April 12

A rather subdued building in the Faubourg Marigny.

Marigny is interesting.

The "one way" sign has been altered and now reads ONE DAY.  Above it, a second sign proclaims "Think that you might be wrong."

I watched a man with a tuba walking up the street, toward the Quarter.  There wasn't a parade or anything, just this one guy and a tuba.  I thought to myself, "That's not something you see every day."

Only minutes later, I was proved wrong, when a different guy with a different tuba walking the other way on the street ambled by.

Yes, Marigny is interesting.

  1. That can happen in New Orleans - with the number of gigs, funerals, parades, festivals and so much more, bands and tubas are all over the place!

Have you seen "Treme" on HBO?
