You KNEW it. You knew I'd put another sky picture in here before too much longer.
You were right.

I don't know - does this make me a dork?
I am in Austin, so the first thing I do with my free time is to drive to Book People to purchase a bag o' books. The second thing I do is to sit outside the store and start reading one of them.
Dork-like behavior, or not?

PS - I started reading The Miracle Life of Edgar Mint, by Brady Udall. Here's the first sentence:
If I could tell you only one thing about my life it would be this: when I was seven years old the mailman ran over my head.
Based on that beginning, I am holding out very high hopes for the rest of the book.

Perhaps this wall could benefit from a new coat of paint.

Look! It's NOT a photograph of the sky.
It's a flower on the red Texas sage.

When I left home this morning, I was planning on scouting out an interesting word or two on a wall somewhere in Levelland in order to continue the little theme week I had going.
But when I drove through this interesting weather system, I decided that the theme week was over.
There were these bands of clouds and mist and then a band of sun then another one of clouds and mist - it went on like that for several miles. Maybe it was similar to driving through Saturn's rings?

I am very fond of these two pieces of raku-fired pottery, titled "Recycled" (on the left) and "Recycled Two."
And I think I would like them even if the artist weren't my son.

OK, so the road's official name is "Hawk Road" but in my (feeble)(increasingly) mind, it is called "that dirt road with one tree." I guess that wouldn't fit on a sign very well.

I love this quilt.
I found it after my mom passed away; it is too bad that I don't know its story but it is obvious from the worn fabric that I am not the first person to have loved it.
Maybe that bright blue was a dress my mom had as a young woman, or perhaps the pink-with-red-dots that's worn nearly away was a summer nightgown. And who quilted those tiny stitches?
I keep the quilt on the sofa in the living room; at night when I can't sleep, I pull it close and think about all the colors, the fabric, the care that went into it.
I love this quilt.

Two rows of pecan trees in the 3,200 acre orchard.
I love the way the branches NEARLY touch, leaving that thin line of sky.
