When my Aunt Mabel died, I got a couple of interesting things. This book was one of them. It was published in 1960 by The Reeves Publishing Company in San Angelo, Texas; Major Ernest N. Reeves is the author. You probably recognize him from his earlier work "Living Sparks of Life"* and "Hurdling Obstacles."*
Wondering what fine expressions are included? Here's a sample of a pair of contiguous entries, which I will reproduce just as they are shown in the book:
POCKET GOPHER. The pocket Gopher is able to run backward as fast and as easily as it can go forward.
GOOSE-PIMPLES. To get extremely excited; a nerve reaction; thrilled; embarrassment sometimes reveals them; fear of being exposed.
